Following the recommendation of the Nominating Committee and approval at the Meeting of the  Board of Directors that was held today, Asahi Glass announced the creations of Chairman &  CEO, President & COO, and the change of President as described below, subject to approval at  the Ordinary General Meeting of Shareholders to be held in late March 2008 and the Meeting of  the Board of Directors to be held on the same day.
