ZANESVILLE -- Keeping a tradition alive, Anchor Glass Container Corp., Mould Division, has been assisting the glass industry for the past 110 years. To celebrate its anniversary, the company is hosting an open house on Saturday (Sunday rain date) at its facility located at 1555 Fairview Road.
Free factory tours will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and participants will be given a free commemorative anniversary bottle, while supplies last, designed by local craftsmen and made for the event.
In addition, the third annual AGCC Employees' Charity Car Show will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. with proceeds going to the United Way.
The mold division makes the molds used in the company's eight glass-making facilities. The mold-making process takes time, patience, precision and the mold must be able to withstand the intense heat used to make glass containers.
