What causes laminated glass delaminations, particluarly clear bubbles? What things should I be looking for to avoid this?
With windcreens delamination can be caused also due to gaps left between the short and long glass pair. These "gaps" between glass pairs can be caused by certain problems during bending process or wrong positioning of the glass pairs while prepared to lamination. Delaminations due to position problems occur especially with half pieces. Sometimes injection of Dovanol? (Rovanol?) between the glass pair into to bubled area will fix the problem.
yes we recommend to gap between glass and glass after bending and one think is vaccum impropered or seal vac leakage or time+ temp not match and if you found this for architect glass with already assembly please check silicone of they used.
Action
Check base water.
check face of glass tin/air side.
check static on glass surface before lamenate.
Bubbles are caused due to couple of reasons
1) tempered glass pair must be bent in tempering.
2)less films during lamination.
3)Vaccumm must be not properly done.
Delamination
1) Moisture / water
2) Silicone
3) non proper installation
4) contact with chemicals
5) two tempered glass with Bend edges laminated in different direction
