Dear Sir/Madam,
I am now doing researches on Heat Soak Test of tempered/ toughened glasses. I know that there is a German standard 18516 (holding at 280-300degC for 8 hrs). There is also an under developed standard prEN 14179.
1)Are there any other standards that are being used in the tempered glass industry for the Heat Soak Test?
2)Could anyone tell me the general heating condition of present heat soak tests in the industry? What are the holding temp and time? What are the heating rate and cooling rate?
Thank you very much for your help.

Thx for ur reply.
What is the name for the standards besides EN14179 and DN 1815?
I know that prEN 14179 states to have 290+-10deg C for hold temp and 2 hr for hold time, while German standard 18516 states to have 290+-10deg C for hold temp and 8 hr for hold time.
Are there any reference values for heating and cooling rate of heat soak test in the manufacturing industry?
Thx
In response to your questions
1) Yes
2) The answer to the first part of the question is Yes and to the second part They are explained in the standards
You need to obtain a copy of the standard to which you refer, the requirements are stipulated in precise detail.
