Railway-locomotive windscreens

I am looking at the market for front loco/train windscreens/windows.

Where can I find the information on the total market size and the share of this market, or does anyone know this answer?

I think this could be a growth market does anyone agree?

Hmm, I believe that there are the same manufacturers that also produce glass for vehicles (cars, trucks, buses) I am not sure where you can get that information but I agree with you it is an interesting market.

Most of the "glass" used in the rail industry is either polycarbonate or acrylic plexiglas due to the vandalism that these vehicles are subjected to. Regular laminated or tempered wouldn't last in these applications. Lee

Sorry Lee

Maybe in your contry this might be true! But gereally glass is used in Europe and the US. Plastics will not withstand the loading and are easysly scratched. Most of the climatic requierments such as U. Value, soundabsorption and Sunprotection are not matched witch plastic!
In General Glss windschields are made of chemically hardend laminated glass. The tests (Railroad standards) are extremly tough and expensive.

Kind regards
