Do you know the options to increase the efficiency of the insulated windows?
First is Low-E glass. Also known as high performance glass, Low-E stands for low emittance. An invisible coating of metallic oxide layers are put on one of the panes of glass. This option will suppress radiant heat flow by reflecting energy back into the house in the winter when the sun is low and reflecting energy away in the summer when the sun is higher in the sky.
The next option would be an ATG unit, adding Argon gas to the unit with Low-E glass. Argon is an odorless, colorless non-flammable gas. Removing nitrogen and oxygen from the air creates this dense gas. Adding Argon gas to your unit makes it difficult for warm or cold air to pass through. Argon gas and Low-E coatings combined are 40% more efficient than most windows and receive the governments Energy Star certification.
Finally, consider ATG4. These units are made up of two panes of Low-E glass filled with Krypton gas. Krypton gas is denser than even Argon, making even more difficult for warm or cold air to pass through. This will give you even higher R-values and meet the Energy Star certification.
Both ATG and ATG4 units use an intercept spacer for superior thermal efficiency and improved seal longevity.
