Supertrucks Ltd, the UK’s largest manufacturer of specialist glass transport systems, is setting the pace at this year’s Glassex Show (March 4-7 2007 NEC.

Its stand, (F090) is one of the biggest it has ever taken at the Show, includes a terrific win-a-Citroën Berlingo van competition, a special Supertrucks money-saving show offer worth up to £275 + VAT, as well as the first showing of a new Ready to Run glass carrying rack for the all-new Citroën Relay.

Peter Wright, Supertrucks chairman, explains, “We are using Glassex to demonstrate our unrivalled technical expertise in the glass-carrying sector, highlight our close working relationships with major commercial vehicle manufacturers and put a spotlight on our ever-expanding range of new products. Our Glassex Show 2007 stand is the place for the window installing trade to visit, where they can benefit from a special, money saving offer and see the efficiency and safety gains that the latest Supertrucks glass carrying technology brings. And, for one lucky individual or company, there is the chance to win a Citroën Berlingo van fully equipped with Supertrucks glass carrying equipment.”

In conjunction with Citroën, at the show Supertrucks is running a simple competition, to win the use of a Citroën Berlingo for six months. The prize Berlingo is fully equipped for carrying glass, with the latest Supertrucks fully anodised aluminium side rack, complete with two Supertrucks System 1 retaining poles and an anodised aluminium roof rack fitted with a front air deflector. Other Supertrucks equipment fitted includes front and rear side rack safety markers and an inclinometer.

“The Citroën Berlingo is one of the UK’s best selling high cube vans and an ideal, popular choice for window installers. The fully equipped and ready to work prize Berlingo will be a terrific boost to the business of whoever wins this vehicle,” adds Peter Wright.

The Supertrucks Glassex Show 2007 special offer applies to all Supertrucks aluminium glass carrying racks ordered at the show. These will be supplied with FREE anodising, which is worth up to £275 plus VAT. Anodising provides significant benefits as it prevents unsightly discolouration of the aluminium, which not only affects the appearance of the rack, but also makes it harder to keep clean. An anodised rack not only keeps its aluminium colour, but is also easier to keep clean and thus maintains the image of the operating company.

The new Citroën Relay displayed on the stand represents Supertrucks latest range expansion. The recent explosion in new UK van launches has seen Supertrucks expand its panel van glass-carrying rack range, developing equipment for:-

- new Mercedes Sprinter

- new VW Crafter

- new Mercedes Vito

- new VW Transporter

- new LDV Maxus

- new Ford Transit

- new Iveco Daily

- and now the new Citroën Relay

The newly developed rack for the new Citroën Relay – which is installed without the need to drill the body side panels - is part of the Citroën Ready to Run range of specialist bodywork. The Supertrucks Ready to Run glass carrying package for the new Relay van includes a full size, full height side rack in fully anodised aluminium, with three System 1 poles, a facia board, as well as a full length, full width anodised aluminium roof rack complete with a front air deflector and a rear ladder roller.

The latest light weight Supertrucks glass racks for the Citroen Relay and other recently launched panel vans incorporate many unique features, such as:-

- inclinometer, to give an immediate indication of the angle of the rack and thus whether it

is safe to load/unload the vehicle

- new rubber base blocks, incorporating side reflectors, to provide better in-transit load

protection and improve vehicle visibility/safety

- reflective white safety markers, to effectively define the rack edges front and rear in

poor visibility

- pole rest, to provide convenient, safe storage for securing poles during load handling

- test certificate, issued with every rack to show maximum safe working load.

The Supertrucks glass carrying rack range is available with a choice of glass securing systems including the company’s System 3 securing pole which, with its latest over-centre toggle securing action, makes securing glass sheets to the rack a remarkably quick and convenient operation.

Fully compliant with all relevant European regulations, Supertrucks racks are the only UK manufactured glass carrying racks which have been awarded the internationally recognised German TUV and GS engineering and safety certification.

In addition to its wide range of glass carrying equipment for every popular European panel van, Supertrucks is also the UK’s largest manufacturer of coachbuilt glass carrying bodywork. This range is custom built for chassis cabs in the 3.5 – 26 tonne gvw weight range. Designed for the bulk transport of glass and glazing products, Supertrucks coachbuilt bodies incorporate the latest technology to increase load handling efficiency and safety. Amongst the many patented features incorporated into Supertrucks coachbuilt bodywork is its retracting roof system, which allows overhead craneage of large stillages.
