Designed for exceptional clarity and solar control, insulating glass units (IGUs) made with Solarban 72 Starphire glass feature one lite of uncoated Starphire glass and another with a triple-silver coating engineered specifically for application on a Starphire glass substrate.SOLARBAN® 72 STARPHIRE® glass by PPG Industries (NYSE:PPG), shown here on the Rosecrans office building in California, was recently selected by readers of USGlass magazine as a 2013 Product of the Year in the “glass product” category.In a 1-inch IGU, Solarban 72 Starphire glass has visible light transmittance (VLT) of 71 percent and a solar heat gain coefficient (SHGC) of 0.30, producing a light-to-solar-gain (LSG) ratio of 2.38.That represents a 25 percent improvement in SHGC compared to Solarban 60 Starphire glass and an 11 percent improvement in VLT compared to Solarban 70XL glass.
