Smart-Builder successful at waning Vitrum

Date: 22 November 2013

Vitrum has finished for 2013 and we won’t be seeing it again until 2015 or possibly not even then.    By all accounts Vitrum 2013 was smaller than previous years and seems to be on a downward trend.

Vitrum occupied 4 halls at Fiera Milano. However, with sections of halls partitioned off and wide boulevards created for hallway space it was clear that the show didn’t fill up as much as had been expected or perhaps hoped.

Interestingly, Smart-Builder staff returning from Vitrum spoke of a worthwhile and, for them, successful show. This is perhaps surprising in light of how others have been reporting it. Smart-Builder were fortunate to have a prominent position on LiSEC’s stand (see image below) where the staff were kept busy introducing the software to a new audience and speaking with existing contacts. In some cases companies cited Smart-Builder as the reason they attended the show.

Smart-Builder had a great time at Vitrum. It was good to see you there!

An additional reason for Smart-Builder to attend Vitrum was to meet with the sales staff from LiSEC Automation, who will be promoting, selling and providing support for Smart-Builder. This arrangement looks to provide multiple benefits for Smart-Builder, LiSEC and their customers. There is now a seamless flow from design of a shower or balustrade to glass manufacture with LiSEC’s GPS software, radically reducing production time. LiSEC Automation will provide local support for Smart-Builder in Italy and sales staff were enthused with the possibilities.

Will Smart-Builder be at the next Vitrum? It remains to be seen whether the show will be repeated yet. For now, Smart-Builder are planning for a bigger and better Glasstec in 2014!
