Sisecam strike halted by government for national security reasons

An eight-day strike at 10 plants of Turkey's largest glass manufacturer, Sisecam, has been prohibited by the government for national security reasons, Turkey's Official Gazette announced on Friday.

The strike by Sisecam workers that has been in progress is regarded as being detrimental to public health and national security.Therefore; the strike will be prohibited for 60 days according to a decision made by the council of ministers on June 25, 2014,” said the Official Gazette.
