Saint-Gobain Sekurit becomes Renault's new glass mate

• Will partner the French carmaker in being the single source of automotive glass supply (OEM) for Renault Duster• Extend glass solutions with acoustic, atmospheric, thermal and visual comfort• Ensure greater safety & Security to the end consumer Saint-Gobain Sekurit has secured a brand-new deal with the French auto major Renault as it gets set to roll out the off-roader 'Duster' on the Indian roads.

Sekurit will stand to gain as the single biggest glass supplier for this programme, reinstating Saint-Gobain's supremacy as the most preferred glass manufacturer across the world, spanning a spectrum of diverse consumer needs.

With this, saint-Gobain Sekurit India has already witnessed a huge leap in business with Renault, what with the onset of Duster production ensuring a significant scaling up of volumes. And that's not all. Saint-Gobain Sekurit India has also come in for much appreciation from the Dacia plant in Europe for being among the best suppliers in terms of minimum development time and providing first time right glasses.  

On the Duster end, the car is one of Renault's most ambitious products in India till date. It has received a total booking of 17,000 as of July 2012 and the production ramp up is in full swing at the French manufacturer's plant in Oragadam, Chennai. The country's SUV market is moving at a fast pace and the 5-seater Duster promises to turn the heat on the rivals including the Scorpio from Mahindra & Mahindra and the Tata Safari. Also, the Indians' growing love for SUVs might just make Duster park itself in the sedan space as well.



As Saint-Gobain Sekurit and Renault set off on a new journey, It is yet another milestone for the Saint-Gobain Group.
