Romania’s pavilion at Expo Milan 2015 to be a house with thatched roof and glass walls

Romania’s pavilion at Expo Milano 2015 will have the shape of a traditional house with elements of folk architecture, but interpreted from a contemporary perspective, with thatched roof and walls made of glass, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs MAE told local Mediafax.ro.

MAE organized between February 4 and March 11 the Competition of Ideas, a public contest financed by private sources, opened to all proposals and integrated solutions for the national pavilion of Romania at Expo Milano 2015.The competition targeted professionals from various fields, such as architecture and landscape design, research and development, culture, creativeness and communication.A total of 11 proposals were submitted.The winning project is named Living with Nature and belongs to the association SC Artline SRL and SC Adest Architecture SRL.

Expo Milano 2015 will be organized between May 1 and October 31, 2015, this year’s theme being Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life. More about the event www. en.expo2015.org/.
