Testing confirms product is the first and only operable AW-rated vinyl system on the market - Quanex Building Products’ Mikron C3-11300™ window and door system has achieved the highest structural performance class, Architectural Window (AW), as governed by North American Fenestration Standard (NAFS) for use in mid- and high-rise structures.  The first and only operable PVC system to meet these requirements, the Mikron C3-11300 system was specially engineered to provide superior design-pressure ratings, impact resistance, durability and energy performance.“Thanks to all involved in the project, we are proud of the privilege to promote the industry’s only operable PVC window and door products to achieve the highest structural performance class AW,” said Eric Thompson, commercial sales specialist for Quanex. “This achievement allows our customers to directly compete with the highest performing window and door products on the market.”The Quanex C3-11300 is available in a number of configurations, including interior-glazed tilt-and-turn and fixed windows and interior glazed out-swing doors, all of which have passed AW rating tests.

Other configurations are still in testing and results will be confirmed when complete.

“Early results on our awning, casement and hopper products are pointing to even more impressive results,” Thompson said. “Additional updates with final test results on these and other products are expected to be released later this year.”
