Quanex Building Products continues its advocacy efforts to engage lawmakers and support policies that are in the best interest of the window and door industry, as well as its local communities.

Recently, Quanex’s Cambridge, Ohio facility hosted U.S. Congressman Bill Johnson, representing Ohio’s Sixth District, and the company’s Yakima, Wash. facility hosted U.S. Congressman Doc Hastings, representing Washington’s Fourth District.

During these facility visits, they spent time learning about the Quanex’s role in the window and door industry and its advocacy efforts in Washington, D.C. In addition, they discussed the impact of the company’s energy-saving products within the window and door industry, such as the window and door spacer systems manufactured at the plant.

“Job creation through advances in manufacturing is critically important to growing America's economy. Companies like Quanex, in Cambridge, that manufacture energy-efficient products, are so important to bringing manufacturing jobs back to Eastern and Southeastern Ohio,” said U.S. Congressman Johnson. “Not only will these advanced manufacturing jobs help build a sustainable future by fulfilling the need for energy-efficient homes and commercial buildings, but they will also boost eastern Ohio’s manufacturing base.”

Both congressional leaders also received a plant tour where they had an opportunity to meet employees and engage with key personnel. Discussions included Quanex’s role in advancing the energy efficiency of window and door products, as well as new innovations on the horizon from Cambridge, Yakima and Quanex’s other facilities across the country.

"I was pleased to see first-hand the innovative energy efficient building materials Quanex produces,” said U.S. Congressman Hastings. “This is exciting news for Central Washington."

Quanex has taken an active role in engaging lawmakers on issues and opportunities faced by the communities in which it operates and in the markets it serves. For more information about Quanex Building Products, visit www.quanex.com.
