We are happy to announce that Smartglass switchable glass is being used to create an amazing aquarium designed by a leading French artist Pierre Huyghe. His numerous international solo exhibitions such as at Los Angeles County Museum and Ludwig Museum in Cologne, Germany take inspiration from leisure, adventure and celebration as an essential element of his art. This rational art movement artist constantly provokes our most stable structures in the world such as modernist architecture and computer generated virtual realms. There is no doubt that Huyghe has a talent for creating a cultural confrontation out of the most unexpected elements.
Pierre Huyghe’s ecosystem aquariums are a live ecosystem that creates an intimate coexistence and contrast with the external atmosphere. The balance of Past and Present is always evident in Huyghe’s values and we expect that this new aquarium project will show this as well. Pierre Huyghe’s exhibition that includes his new aquarium will be soon available to viewers in London. The project is still in the early stage and very soon will we share some pictures on our news section.
In the meantime we are happy to share his previous aquarium work below:
More about Smartglass solution for artists and designers:
Smartglass solution offers instant privacy on demand and at the flick of a switch. This simple and reversible state of transparency – with little alteration of light level – makes it an ideal solution to implement in art and design. Smartglass offers instant privacy without additional blinds and curtains. This creates endless opportunities and possibilities of how a project could be exposed. At the same time the laminated switchable glass quality helps to reduce glare and eye strain. Let’s not forget that Privacy Smartglass can be used as a projection screen which makes it even more exciting for designers!
