The OptiGas system, developed jointly between Praxair and Integrated Automation Systems, is an innovative gas fill technology that can reduce the cost of filling insulated glass with krypton by as much as 80%. The unique fill process of the OptiGas system can fill multiple air spaces simultaneously with argon, krypton or mixtures of both, with virtually no losses. This enables window manufacturers to achieve higher energy efficient R and U values for a much lower gas cost.
Operators scan a bar code and the OptiGas system determines fill parameters, eliminating the need for manual input. The computer-controlled system precisely measures and fills the correct amount of gas into each insulated glass unit. The system also contains a ThermalCERT® module which is fully integrated, and provides continuous process control verification of gas content, enabling manufacturers to verify thermal performance.
