PPG announces global distribution agreement with HI-TEMP Coatings Technology

Date: 9 July 2012

PPG protective and marine coatings business enters multi-year strategic partnershipPPG Industries’ protective and marine coatings business (PMC) has signed a global distribution agreement with Hi-Temp Coatings Technology Co. for select HI-TEMP(R) branded products.

Hi-Temp Coatings Technology manufactures industry-leading coatings that withstand extreme temperatures to protect both carbon steel and stainless steel substrates in stacks, piping, boilers and similar equipment.

Hi-Temp coatings products are used widely in refineries, petrochemical plants, pulp and paper mills, and power plants. Some products in the coatings line may be applied while equipment is hot and running, and some help prevent corrosion under insulation (CUI) on surfaces that will be insulated after being coated.

“PPG is proud to help protect many of the world’s most important assets, and we are happy to add Hi-Temp coatings to our product offering,” said Tom Mauck, PPG vice president, protective and marine coatings. “Working with Hi-Temp Coatings Technology enables us to offer global customers additional high-quality options to meet more of their coatings needs.”

Fred Zupicich, CEO and founder of Hi-Temp Coatings Technology, said, "We look forward to working with PPG in a global, long-term partnership. It will enable both companies to better serve clients throughout the global marketplace.”

The Hi-Temp coatings products PPG will distribute globally complement core PPG PMC offerings such as AMERCOAT(R), PITT-CHAR(R) and SIGMA COATINGS(R) brand products.

PPG is a world leader in protective and marine coatings, with products protecting customers’ energy, infrastructure and marine industry assets in some of the world’s most demanding conditions and environments.
