GKN Westland Helicopters has awarded Pilkington Aerospace with another order for the EH-101 helicopter programme.

The order includes an increment of 55 windshields for the UK Ministry of Defence.Agusta/Westland at Yeovil in Somerset, England, will build the helicopters and approximately 100 have been sold to the Royal Air Force, Royal Navy, Italy and Canada.The EH-101 transparencies are among the most complex transparencies manufactured by Pilkington Aerospace and require the involvement of both Kings Norton in the UK, which manufactures the parts, and Garden Grove in the US, which carries out the specialised electro-magnetic compatibility coating required by the customers.Pilkington Aerospace will continue to receive orders from GKN Westland Helicopters as part of the multi-year contract for the supply of EH-101 spares for the UK Royal Navy, Royal Air Force and Air Forces in Canada and Italy who operate EH-101 helicopters.GKN Westland Helicopters has awarded Pilkington Aerospace with another order for the EH-101 helicopter programme.
