Nippon Sheet Glass Co., Ltd., the ultimate holding company of NSG Group, ( hereinafter “the Company” ) announces its plan to post extra-ordinary loss for the half year ending 30th September 2007 as below: 1.

Background

The Company reviewed the security value on its equity in some of its affiliate companies and now decided to write down one of them by approximately JPY 500 million of the gap between its book value and fair value due to its impairment. By this treatment, the corresponding amount of extra-ordinary loss will be posted for the half year to 30th September 2007.



2. Impact on the forecast

No changes are being made to the forecast of the Company’s operating result.
