No increase in glass production since 1996: DM

The district administration has told the Centre that there has been no increase in glass production since 1996 when the Supreme Court passed an order prohibiting any rise in the number of manufacturing units and their production.

District magistrate Vijay Kiran Anand who attended a joint meeting of officials from the ministry of environment and commerce, besides those of the UP Pollution Control Board, is reported to have said that, on the contrary, the number of manufacturing units had gone down from 410 to 191 over the last 18 years.Read more: http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/city/agra/No-increase-in-glass-production-since-1996-DM/articleshow/45026423.cms
