A dozen glass works on display in Broad Ripple through Oct. 30 combine art and functionality in bold hues.
Using 100-year-old recipes and colors, Kokomo Opalescent Glass Hot Glass Studio has created hundreds of items in its Colorfields collection, including hand-blown martini glasses, vases, paperweights, tumblers and bowls.A dozen pieces will be on exhibit for Colorfields' Indianapolis debut at Artifacts Gallery, 6327 Guilford Ave.
The pieces were designed and created by Michael James Amis, a glass artist at KOG Hot Glass Studio. KOG, founded in 1888, is the world's oldest manufacturer of colored sheet glass. When the company began, a regular customer was Louis Comfort Tiffany.
