Date: 16 March 2011
The webinar will look at possibly tragic results from the mishandling of flat glass in a manufacturing or fabrication facility.
The webinar will happen March 9, 2011 at 3 p.m. EST. Registration for the webinar, which is offered free of charge, is available now at www.glasswebsite.com/webinar. Anyone in the glass and glazing industry is invited to participate.
“This webinar is a must-see,” said Marg Webb, Executive Director of IGMA. “As glass people, we often become too comfortable handling and being around glass. Safe handling of glass is critical to the health and safety of our industry; making sure you have the right safety equipment is key but also being aware of your environment will reduce accidents. This webinar will be an eye-opener to many.”
The webinar will be presented by Mike Burk, Manager of Workplace, Learning & Performance with Edgetech IG in Cambridge, Ohio. He has worked in technical service and training in the insulating glass industry for over nineteen years. Mike has served as a member of the Technical Service Committee and as chairman of Education Committee of the Insulating Glass Manufactures Alliance (IGMA). He holds a master's degree in adult leaning and development from Cleveland State University and a bachelor’s degree in business from Myers College in Cleveland.
“This is a webinar that managers and workers in a fabrication facility really should see,” said Brian Pitman, GANA director of marketing and communications. “It is vitally important that anyone handling glass be completely aware of their surroundings and situation. This webinar illustrates that.”
