ICG Organizes the First Summer Camp in China

From August 20 to 23, the 2012 Summer Camp of International Association on Glass (“ICG”) was successfully held in Shanghai.

Peng Shou, ICG’s Chairman, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. He said, “The International Association on Glass has always attached importance to the international glass technology exchange, and the camp is a very good platform for exchanges and cooperation.” And he hoped that all participants will be able to gain some benefits, make progress and contribute to glass technology development and innovation in China and around the world someday.

As one of the major academic exchange activities, the Summer Camp organizes specialized training for doctoral students majoring in glass-related fields and young researchers. The 2012 Summer Camp is the first camp held in China. The Summer Camp is sponsored by ICG and China Ceramic Society and presented by China Triumph International Engineering Co., Ltd., Shanghai University and South China University of Technology. It carries out training seminar related to the theme "functional glass”. The organizers also invite well-known experts and scholars to give lectures about the current rapid development of technology in the glass industry.
