Glassworks in Lodz SEZ

300 new jobs were created in a new glassworks which was opened on May 20 in Ujazd, central Poland. The glassworks, constructed by Euroglas, is equipped with a most modern line for flat glass production in Europe.

The project is worth PLN 723 million.

The modern line measures nearly 1 km and the factory’s warehouse has 6ha. The project involved also creation of the world’s biggest furnace for melting glass which is able to contain 1,000 tonnes of glass mass and has a daily output of 1000 tons.

Euroglas was granted a business activity permission to operate in the Lodz Special Economic Zone in 2008. The glassworks is the forth facility the holding Glas Trösch located in Poland. The factory is run in co-operation with a Polish partner Press-Glas S.A, a company which produces glazed units.
