Three days, over 20 lectures and additional digital content galore

The new digital format of glasstec VIRTUAL meets with great approval in the industry. Over 650 exhibitors have currently registered for glasstec in June 2021 and are therefore also taking part in glasstec VIRTUAL. The event will be held from 20 to 22 October 2020 online at virtual.glasstec.de and feature extensive services for exhibitors to present themselves to the sector and interact with potential customers. For the duration of the event all participants of glasstec VIRTUAL will receive free access to the 3-day conference programme and all additional online offers of the exhibitors. Registration is now open at virtual.glasstec-online.com.

During glasstec VIRTUAL exhibitors and participants will be able to network using either a smart Matchmaking Tool (via App or the website) or the chat function in the individual sessions.

The Agenda of the Conference Area – Knowledge Transfer at its Best

Over three days the conference agenda of glasstec VIRTUAL will feature free expert lectures from industry and science and with reference to globally trending themes such as climate protection, resource efficiency, urbanisation, added value and happiness. The glasstec conference has a similar structure as the leading international trade fair glasstec, divided into segments such as glass production, processing, and finishing as well as glass products and applications. The conference language is English. The following industry experts will be chairing the respective sessions:

  • Michael Drass, Technical University of Darmstadt, Institute for Statics and Engineering: glass products and applications.
  • Johann Overath, Bundesverband Glasindustrie e.V. (BV – Federal Association of the Glass Industry) and Dr. Thomas Jüngling, Hüttentechnische Vereinigung der Deutschen Glasindustrie e.V. (HVG – Research Association of the German Glass Industry), Deutsche Glastechnische Gesellschaft e.V. (DGG – German Society of Glass Technology): glass production
  • Gesine Bergmann, Verband Deutscher Maschinen- und Anlagenbauer e.V. (VDMA – German Engineering Association – Forum Glass Technology) and Jochen Grönegräs, Bundesverband Flachglas e.V. (BF – German Flat Glass Manufacturers’ Association): glass processing and finishing

During the Conference the international trade audience will be able to learn about the latest developments and trends in the global glass sector and interact with the speakers – experiencing the talks live from everywhere in the world. The first two conference days will be rounded off by the “Glass Association Summit” organised by the trade journal Glass Worldwide. Its two sessions will address the current, global market situation in the flat and container glass industry.



Taking part will be the associations: All India Glass Manufacturers’ Federation (AIGMF), Asean Federation of Glass Manufacturers (AFGM), the Federal Association of the Glass Industry (BV Glas), the Chinese Ceramic Society (CCS), The European Container Glass Federation (FEVE) (Europe), Glass for Europe, the Glass Packaging Institute (GPI), the National Glass Association (NGA) and the British Glass Manufacturers' Confederation (British Glass).
