Glassolutions Acquires Greenberg Ltd

Date: 23 April 2012

GLASSOLUTIONS has acquired the business of Rotherham-based Greenberg Ltd for an undisclosed sum in a move which reflects the newly branded company’s customer service commitment.

The acquisition secures supply and enhances the service for Greenberg’s existing customers.  It further strengthens GLASSOLUTIONS’ number one position as the largest installer and repairer of glass and glass systems in the UK and its shop-fitting and interior glass business.

According to marketing director Mike Butterick it reflects a clear statement of intent for the successful glass company which used Ecobuild 2012 as a platform to change its name from Solaglas to GLASSOLUTIONS and to launch a range of new and innovative products.

Says Mike: “The market remains challenging, but we have in place the management structures and the strength in depth to take advantage of the opportunities which exist to deliver enhanced services to our customers.  Integrating the Greenberg business into our Waterlands operation is one example of this process.”

Most of the Greenberg team have joined the GLASSOLUTIONS team at its multi-million pound production and call centre operation at Waterlands.  In total GLASSOLUTIONS employs over 1100 people across 22 business bases around the UK.

The move will result in an improved nationwide service for Greenberg customers who now have access to the extensive resources of GLASSOLUTIONS glass solutions across the UK.  GLASSOLUTIONS, part of the international Saint-Gobain Group, now plans to invest in a new shop-fitting fabrication facility at Waterlands to further strengthen its expanding shop-fitting and interiors operation.

Commenting on the deal, GLASSOLUTIONS’ Director - Installation, Ian Davy, said:  “Responsiveness is critical in the sectors we serve.  Like GLASSOLUTIONS, Greenberg has an excellent reputation for quality and delivery so there is a perfect fit between our two organisations.  Both provide national emergency replacement glazing services.  As part of the bigger GLASSOLUTIONS business, Greenberg customers now have access to our enhanced nationwide service operations.

“At the same time, Greenberg brings to the group its special expertise in the shop-fitting and internal glazing markets which perfectly complements our commercial glazing operation.”

The move has been welcomed by Greenberg customers.
