Glass Services increases triple potential with Smartfill 2

Date: 29 July 2014

Inagas, the industry leader in the supply of gas filling machinery and testing equipment, is pleased to extend its existing partnership with Ashford based Glass Services Ltd to help increase their production capability with a Smartfill 2 gas filling machine.

Launched in 2010, the Smartfill 2 is an Argon gas filling machine with 250mm touch screen controls, and the latest technology to enhance control and improve productivity, including the Smart Start filling lance, which provides the operative with control, without having to return to the machine. The machine is capable of 30 litres per line per minute and is designed for dual line production – making it not only ideal for increasing productivity, but also for use in producing a triple glazed unit.

Bryan Williams, Director at Glass Services comments: “We have been working with Inagas since 2008 and have known them for a long time before that. So when we identified a pinch point in our production process we decided that we needed to be able to gas fill even quicker and it made sense to us to once again approach Inagas.

“Incorporating the Smartfill 2 has enabled us to significantly speed up production, and with increasing enquiries about triple glazing, the ability to fill two cavities at the same time has put us ahead here too. The Inagas team is very knowledgeable and anticipates from the early stages any potential teething problems that could arise from incorporating a new machine and how to overcome them.”
