National glazing contractor, GG Glass, has taken delivery of a 7.5 tonne Isuzu A-frame vehicle at the firm’s Birmingham depot.

The unique ‘A-frame’ design provides four facings, allowing extra-large panes of glass to be safely loaded and transported. GG Glass currently owns a number of similar vehicles, which were originally developed under a bespoke design by manufacturer, Supertrucks, however, this latest delivery marks a first for the Birmingham branch.

The new Isuzu vehicle is able to carry sheets of glass reaching 3.2metres high and 4.5metres in length. Adaptation of heavy goods trucks to withstand considerable weights and extra-large sizes forms an integral part of the GG Glass operation.

Ray Moss, Director at GG Glass explained: “We continue to invest heavily in our fleet – good quality and fit for purpose transport forms an important part of the wider business operation .

“Following the acquisition of the Birmingham business at the end of last year, we are already seeing strong growth in the region and have made this considerable acquisition as part of our expansion strategy moving forward.

“This is a solid and robust addition to our fleet that we’re pleased to take stock of and get to work straight away!”
