Milestone for Anji "Two Mountains" Tech City

In June 2024, the Anji "Two Mountains" Future Science and Technology City Culture and Art Center project reached an important milestone: the successful hoisting of the first super glass curtain wall supplied by NorthGlass, covering nearly 7,000 square meters.

At the project site, workers meticulously carried out the lifting process. A 13-ton suction rack connected with a 15-ton installation mechanical head, which was attached to a car crane via a flange, allowed for the steady lifting of the large glass. Surveyors accurately controlled the installation of the curtain wall using a total station, while operators employed auxiliary equipment to ensure the precise placement of the glass's upper and lower ends. The glass was then secured with PTFE pad blocks, completing the installation of the first pane.

The glass curtain wall system for the Anji "Two Mountains" project is complex, encompassing folding line glass, supporting glass, glass rib, bent glass, and rectangular tempered glass curtain walls. The main façade features an all-glass curtain wall, setting a NorthGlass record with a height of 19 meters. This curtain wall uses five layers of laminated glass plus insulating layers and two layers of laminated tempered glass, weighing 10 tons.

NorthGlass demonstrated excellent scheduling and technical skills in the transportation and installation of such large glass pieces, ensuring the project's smooth progress.

Designed by Ma Yansong from MAD Architectural Design Firm and contracted by China State Construction Eighth Engineering Bureau, the Anji "Two Mountains" Future Science and Technology City Culture and Art Center features an axis layout with visual corridors on both sides and an open central platform. The "bamboo leaves" of the high points of the site are scattered and layered, covering the tea field with a sculptural yet light and agile appearance. The lines of the metal "bamboo sheet" roof resemble leaf veins, adding a vivid natural atmosphere.

The project covers nearly 120,000 square meters and includes the Grand Theater, International Conference Center, and Art Training Center. These units are nestled under the green tea fields and the "bamboo leaf" roof, creating an artistic landscape.

The Anji Culture and Art Center is expected to be completed in 2025. With its "One Leaf" and "One Tea" concept, it aims to become a cultural, artistic, and technological hub in the serene mountains and rivers, offering unique experiences and insights to the public.
