Emirates Float Glass signs agreement with Mott MacDonald, UK to provide project management services

Emirates Float Glass LLC (EFG), a Dubai Investments PJSC Greenfield Venture, marches ahead consolidating its position to set up the first ever float glass manufacturing facility at the Industrial City of Abu Dhabi.

Mott MacDonald, one of UK's top engineering and development consultancies will provide project management services to the facility, which is designed to produce 600 tons of glass per day using the state of the art technology from PPG-USA.The project management agreement was signed between Khalid Kalban, Managing Director and CEO of Dubai Investment PJSC, on behalf of EFG, and Gordon Turley, the Regional Director of Mott MacDonald, UK.

'From the beginning of this project, we have been receiving tremendous interest from several investors in the region, and we are confident that our project will be successfully completed on time which is 18 months after the commencement of construction which starts in June,' he added.

Gordon Turley of Mott MacDonald said, "The approach and the roadmap followed by EFG in engaging their services with us, stands out distinctly in terms of commitment to bring in transparency, professionalism, credibility and a high sense of determination to successfully complete the project of this size and investment."

Mott MacDonald is a UK based multi-disciplinary project management and engineering services company. The company is involved in the engineering design of numerous projects including bridges, tunnels and rail. Recently their services have widened to include more roles as a management consultancy in the fields of education, sustainability, CSR, health and social development.

Expressing his happiness about the overall progress of the project so far, Narendra Mohanty, Director Projects, stated, 'The excellent support from the UAE government and other agencies has helped us to obtain Industrial License, Provisional License from Environment Department, soil testing clearances and land allotment. Other relevant sub milestones are also well aligned towards timely completion of this ambitious project."
