Based at Edgetech's Coventry head office and manufacturing facility, the new centre will play a key role in helping Super Spacer customers get the most out of their sealed unit production and window fabrication. Andy Jones, Managing Director comments: "A key driver behind establishing the new Centre of Excellence is to provide a benchmark for best practice in productivity when using warm edge technology. The need for an industry excellence centre is growing in importance as the sector as a whole continues to grow with new entrants joining the market.
"Our in-house training school forms part of our 360 business support to advise customers on manufacturing best practice, increasing productivity, eliminating waste, and basically getting more of what they've got whether manual, semi- or fully automated applications. As well as the theory, the training sessions include practical information on factory layout, scheduling, and product specification. Production operatives have the opportunity to see for themselves how the Super Spacer extrusion process works and how they in turn can optimise their productivity.
Further training is provided by our field technicians and our new on-line tuition modules which operatives access through the Edgetech web site.
"Everyone has left our training sessions really fired up which is great because while it may be the managing director of the company who has made the buying decision, it?s important to get the rest of the company on side to understand why opting for Super Spacer is the best decision to grow sales in a tough market. The Centre for Excellence has been established to achieve just this."
