DuPont Glass Laminating Solutions announced a price increase of 15 percent on all grades of DuPont(TM) Butacite® polyvinyl butyral interlayer effective January 1, 2008.

The price increase will be applied globally.

DuPont stated that this action is required due to the continued increases in petrochemical feedstock, energy, freight and distribution costs. "The shortage of VAM and the rising cost of ethane and ethylene, primary feedstocks for PVB manufacture, have increased PVB costs substantially in 2007. Increasing energy prices have contributed to increases in freight and distribution costs globally," Torkel Rhenman, global business director, DuPont Glass Laminating Solutions, said.
