DTI draws up standards for glass, related products

The government has drawn up standards for glass products that could be used by contractors for building projects.

This, according to the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), is to ensure a level playing field among related businesses and, more important, protect the welfare of the public.The DTI-Bureau of Product Standards (DTI-BPS) issued three new Philippine National Standards (PNS) covering the different types of glass products that are used in buildings.PNS ISO 114791:2012 details the standards for coated glass, PNS ISO 11479-2:2012 for colored glass facade, and PNS ISO 25537:2012 for silvered flat glass mirror.“The standards will promote a common understanding among concerned sectors and provide a level playing field for businesses, as well as ensure the safety of the general public,” the DTI-BPS said.Read the full story here.The government has drawn up standards for glass products that could be used by contractors for building projects.
