IRVINE, Calif., June 24, 2010- Diamon-Fusion International, Inc. (DFI Nanotechnology), global developer and exclusive licensor of patented hydrophobic nanotechnologies, announced today the specification and utilization of its flagship Diamon-Fusion® patented nano-coating as an added safety feature on all its transportation coaches carrying the support groups for the FIFA World Cup 2010™, currently underway in South Africa.

In partnership with Intercape and DewPoint, the sole distributor for Diamon-Fusion® Nanotechnology in South Africa, each of the coaches in the fleet have been fashioned with the protective coating, making the vehicles safer with better visibility and windshield impact resistance. This news comes off the recent reports of four luxury coach transportation companies being pulled off the rod in South Africa after government officials found severe faults, including cracked windshields and various safety violations. One company’s fleet was found unroadworthy resulting in a crash that killed 23 passengers and injuring scores more. In contrast, Intercape, the largest privately owned intercity passenger transport service in South Africa, has been recognized with an outstanding record of safety, service and reliability, due in part to its forward-thinking in providing additional features to promote roadside safety.

Through an easily applied two-step process, the windshield is treated with an ultra-thin protective layer of optically clear, durable materials, making the surface significantly easier to clean and more resistant to weathering and impact. Intercape initially tested Diamon-Fusion® for a two-month period, on the route between Cape Town and Johannesburg. After the initial trial, the comparison done between treated and untreated windshields showed an impressive result. Not only did the number of in depot and on the road windshield replacements dramatically reduce but also the number of vehicle pull offs decreased. The driver’s visibility improved largely as well, creating a safer transport for Intercape bus commuters.

Independent studies have shown that windshields and side glass treated with hydrophobic coatings, such as Diamon-Fusion®, have improved visibility during rainy conditions providing an invaluable added safety feature for drivers and passengers alike. In addition, independent lab test prove Diamon-Fusion® treated windshields resist chips or cracks from flying road debris significantly better (10 times more) than untreated glass. Details of these test results are found at: http://www.diamonfusion.com/en/products/test_results.aspx.

“For the past two years, Intercape has been actively applying Diamon-Fusion products on all is buses with excellent results of visibility, hydrophobicity and impact and scratch resistance, making the windshields easier to clean, clearer vision and 10 times harder to pit or chip from small road debris,” stated John de Rooy, Managing Director of DewPoint in charge of the Intercape Project for DFI.

“As independent studies have shown, by utilizing Diamon-Fusion protective coatings, autobus, or any other transportation fleet (whether air, ocean, or ground), companies can provide a low-cost, value-added safety feature for its commuters for safer driving conditions and cost-effective solutions,” added stated Guillermo Seta, executive director of DFI Global Operations. “We are thrilled to partner with a company so focused on safety and are pleased to showcase the multi-functional capabilities our patented system provides in the automotive market.”

Based in Cape Town, DewPoint is the sole distributor for Diamon-Fusion® nano-technology products in South Africa. The patented Diamon-Fusion® coating is the revolutionary glass protection product available for the automotive market.
