Derek Bonnard Award for Excellence 2012

Date: 28 November 2012

The G Awards presentation and gala dinner recently celebrated the great and good of the glass and glazing industry and saw successful companies and individuals walk away with well-deserved G12 awards.

But the undisputed star of the show has to be Lister Trade Frames who, having won the Fabricator of the Year Award, were then awarded the Derek Bonnard Award for Excellence.  Joe Hague, Group Commercial Director of Promac – the sponsors of the Derek Bonnard Award for Excellence – explains: “This very special award was introduced in 2011 to honour the memory of our dearly departed MD, who was clearly a very special man in the industry.  The Award for Excellence recognises the best of the best from the winning entries and we are delighted that Lister Trade Frames walked away with the 2012 trophy.  The judges remarked: ‘Listers is a company that clearly embraces change and forges ahead with on-going investment in both infrastructure and its people. It is a fine example of how to maintain and even grow a business in these tough economic times.’ From us all at Promac, we would like to congratulate these truly worthy winners.”

Daniel Shaw, Marketing Manager at Lister Trade Frames continues: “We were shortlisted in two categories - Fabricator of the Year and Customer Care Initiative – and were honoured to be recognised in both for the work we have done.  We were delighted to win the Fabricator of the Year Award and very surprised yet extremely proud to then find we had also been awarded the Derek Bonnard Award for Excellence.  The fact it is not something you enter but is awarded to you by the judges independently is a fantastic coup.

“It’s a very hard, heavily saturated market and trading conditions are difficult.  We have made some tough decisions for the good of the business, our staff and customers and recognition for the work we are doing and being awarded the winners of the Derek Bonnard Award for Excellence, helps make it all worth it.”
