Corning Reaffirms Q2 Outlook

Yahoo reported that Corning Inc. reaffirmed its second-quarter outlook ahead of an investor meeting Wednesday and forecast rising demand for its liquid crystal display glass used in flat-screen televisions and computers.

The world's largest maker of ultra-thin LCD glass raised its estimate for glass market volume growth in 2008 to about 32 percent from 30 percent.Its volume growth estimate of 35 percent to 40 percent is unchanged for 2007, but the company said a stronger LCD-TV market will boost demand next year.
