A major investment research company has picked Corning Inc. stock as one of its '10 Uncommon Values' for 2006.
Lehman Brothers Equity Research, in a report made public last month, calls Corning Inc. 'one of the best investments in the technology arena to leverage the high-growth flat panel display industry.''This, coupled with other growth areas, including Dow Corning ... diesel and telecom provides strong visibility to earnings that we believe will surpass consensus expectations for 2006 and beyond,' the report says.Lehman Brothers ranks Corning stock as overweight, which means it expects the stock to outperform its investment sector in the next 12 months.The firm set a 12-month target price of $35 for the stock, which closed Friday at $24.19.
