Conference "Glass: Science and Practice"

The Conference continued its historical tradition of Union conferences and symposia devoted to the study of the glassy state.  

The organizers of the conference were: State Committee on Science and Technology, Department of Physical Chemistry and Technology of Inorganic Materials Academy of Sciences and Institute of Silicate Chemistry. Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Committee, Academician Vladimir Shevchenko Yaroslavovich with welcoming words inaugurated the Conference.

Report on the state and prospects of development of the glass industry in Russia Viktor Osipov, president StekloSouz Russia, deputy chairman of the organizing committee of the forum and a permanent member of the National Commission on the glass of the Russian Federation, continued to hold the event.

In its proposals to the Congress participants, Viktor suggested creating scientific and technical council with the participation of academics and practitioners, suggesting that the brace will surely overcome technological challenges in manufacturing. Joint, cost-effective activities on materials will greatly accelerate the development and introduction of new glass materials for various sectors of the economy of Russia.

Glass on forum brought together the heads of research on the glass from all academic institutions involved in research of this material, more than 40 research institutes and departments. In its research report, scientists have shown technological possibilities for the application window. Three days continued creative discussion of scholars and practitioners. The National Commission on the glass endorsed the practice of holding this event, its decision fixing the practical necessity of the event. Decision was approved by all members of the Commission.
