The move follows a feasibility study funded by the Waste and Resources Action Programme into increasing recycling by small and medium sized businesses in the window replacement sector.
It estimated such companies generate about 190,000 tonnes of waste a year, which mostly goes to landfill.
Participating waste transfer stations would be eligible for incentives from approved PVC recycler Recovinyl, to help cover additional costs incurred with the necessary deconstruction and segregation.
Interested waste transfer stations will have to be prepared to accept small vans dropping off removed windows as most deliveries will be from small companies.
