Doshi Hardware, a local glass firm, in collaboration with PG Glass of South Africa, has brought in bulletproof glass.It can be used to make bulletproof doors, windows and car windscreens.

"We are interested in bringing in value added glasses to Uganda.

"These glasses are bullet proof, have ultra violet protection as well as heat proof," said Mr Roy Travers, the general manager of Doshi Hardware.

He said that buildings that face the sun and experience extreme heat in the afternoon could use these glasses to keep off the heat.

"The glasses allow in the right amount of light but reduce on the amount of heat," he said.
