On Aug. 26th, the electronic information display ultra-thin glass substrate production line built by Bengbu Design & Research Institute for Glass Industry (Bengbu Institute) with its independent innovation technology and core equipment successfully drew the 0.3mm electronic display ultra-thin float glass for the first time at home, which sets a new record for Chinese glass development history.  This production line, with completely independent intellectual property rights, had successfully completed the glass production in thickness of 1.3mm, 1.1mm,0.7mm & 0.55mm in succession within two months since its smooth glass drawing in Oct.,2013, which rewrites a new record for ultra-thin float glass production of the same kind both at home and abroad.

Since 2014, Bengbu Institute has continuously conducted more than 10 technology researches and tackled key technical problems, laying a solid foundation for further decreasing the thickness of the product. On Aug. 2nd, 0.4mm glass realized the commercialized production, and key product indicators all met the requirement of the Thin Float Glass for Liquid Crystal Display through testing. Then some of the products began to be with the client-side authentication. On Aug. 13th, 0.33mm ultra-thin glass was successfully drawn, and kept steady and continuous for 13 days. This time, Bengbu Institute completed the 0.3mm ultra-thin glass production for the first time, successfully realized the production of whole series, and will continue to lead the direction of technology progress and development of glass industry.
