I am doing a chemistry research project on different types of insulation. Fiberglass is one of the factors. As of now the experiment is leaning more in the physics direction and I need to know what kind of glass is used in fiberglass insulation and what makes it a good component for an insulator. I read the article about types of glass and the three main types, but I'm not sure which category this type would land under, if any. If you could please reply as soon as possible it would be much appreciated. Any information will help. Thank you.

PS. Also, if you have any information about the properties of Styrofoam and WHY it's a good sinulator, it would be GREATLY appreciated.
A response tonight would be WONDERFUL!
