I have a tempered glass windshield in my Pro-Line boat.After washing and drying the the boat ,the windshield retains a look of still having water spots.Can some one tell me what caused this and what can I do to correct it?

Their is a solution. I am a window cleaning & restoration company. I restored a car windsheild the other day. She got TSP over spray mixed with very hard water minerals onto her windshield.
I restored her windshield by high speed buffing.
Use a white abrasive pad and some cerium oxide compound to restore the glass.

Its likely that you got glass corrosion! It happens if small quantities of water such as droppletts remain on the glass surface for quite some period. It then comes to an interdiffiusion of sodium ions from the glass with H3O+ Ions from the water. If the Water evaporates the ph- Value of the water increases rapidly and then dissolves the glass.
