Remove or smooth out etching?

Hello, I just purchased a used car that the previous owner decided to etch strange sketches on each window. I was wonder, short of replacing the glass, is there a way to "repair" or smooth out the etched designs?

So I searched more thoroughly on this forum and found a post with someone that had a similar issue, though theirs was concerning glass doors.

A product from Envirospec called De-Etch was recommended as a possible solution. Would that product also be a viable option in my case?

Here are some images of the etchings: http://picasaweb.google.com/zenersha/Montero?authkey=AFrN9u1OKYQ.

Unfortunately, I do not believe there is any effective way to accomplish this.
Understand that etching is a process in where we remove the top surface of the glass by means of sandblasting &/or acid.
technically the only way to remove it would be to polish it which would be horribly time consuming, costly & would probably look very distorted.
Seems to me not worth the effort. I would opt for replacing the glass first
