The three buildings are joined on the lower 3 levels by an atrium & mall of 48,090 sq. meters and a 6-level underground parking garage shared with the other independent towers of the complex. The groups of three buildings are named “Torre Vivienda 2″ 31,441 sqm for residential purpose (300 apartments) and 84 meters height, “Telcel” 48,600 sqm for corporate offices and 90 meters height, “Oficinas” 61,640 sq. Meters for offices of Grupo CARSO with 104 meters high, and “Teatro Cervantes” with 7,535 sqm.
Since the building was conceptualized to house residences, offices and a hotel, it demanded different types of glass as well to suit each building type. Therefore, Saint-Gobain suggested three diverse glass solutions that would meet the larger objective of energy-efficiency for the Plaza Carso.

For the residential segment, the proposal was to exude a neutral appearance. Hence the extra clear glass SGG Diamant was the chosen glass for the residences, to provide the much-desired neutrality.
As far as the offices were concerned, the objective was to provide sun control while adding to the aesthetic value. Therefore, KNT 140 -solar control glass was used in Double Glazed Unit. This glass also provided the Blue & Gray aesthetics that was sought by the designer.
Finally, for the hotel building, the multi-purpose clear float glass SGG Planilux was chosen. This glass, with its unmatched clarity, is best suited for all types of glass structural facades and was thus apt for this particular division of the Plaza Carso.
